Response To Allegations Of Leadership Contest In The Democratic Party

Ervin Salianji has reacted to allegations that he will participate in the May 23rd race to take over the leadership of the Democratic Party. In a telephone interview with A2CNN, Salianji emphasized that as long as there are no established rules or lists, the party will continue to be usurped, implying that Berisha is attempting to regain control of the party.

Regarding the speculation about whether he will run for the leadership of the DP, Salianji stated that he does not yet have a concrete answer, leaving his candidacy undisclosed. Salianji’s words: “Anyone who is in politics and says they have no ambition is not being truthful, but this is not a stage where I am discussing my personal ambition. I am discussing the rules that need to exist within the Democratic Party, and the concern is this: while we talk about rules, the branches of the Democratic Party have been massacred by excluding democrats from the race, denying democrats their right to vote, and selecting only the membership that aligns with the logic favored by the party leadership.

And despite the absence of rules, no established lists, no campaign time afforded to candidates, and no proposed alternatives, they continue with this logic of usurping the party. I will have a response very soon after I see a regulation that defines the competition, as at the moment, there is none. There are no lists and no accurate number of members who will vote. It is not specified how and how much time candidates will have, and so on. Therefore, I do not have an answer at this moment.”
